Netflix

We didn't watch nearly as many netflix this year as we did last. I changed the plan in October as a result of our reduction in movie watching. The overall numbers are pretty solid and provide me with the information I need to continue. If we have two months in a row like October, then we will either change plans again or cancel. We'll cross that bridge when we get to it. November of next year is already looking up.

Basement Plans

No pictures today.

I just want Pa and Mikko to know what I have planned for them when they arrive. I first plan to treat them to a meal of fish and chips from the Good Eats library. Then a quick walk through and if they want some prep work. Then a sauna and a nights sleep. The next day we will tackle the lights. We are currently looking to install 7 lights in the room. We also plan on adding 4 outlets and rewiring 4 others. I also hope to add a light or two to the workshop as well as an outlet. The plan may change, but as of now that is what I would like to accomplish this weekend.

On Friday we are also having an energy audit done on the house, so we have that to contend with as well, but I don't expect that to be much of a hindrance to us. I hope we are not a hindrance to him.

A year in the Life...

We were short on batteries for the camera so we had to snap quick shots in hopes of landing a good one for possible Alice calendar.

Latest Project

Pa and Mikko came down during my week off to help redo the stairs to the basement. While I always mean to take before pictures, once again I did not.
Alice is testing out the steps that Pa and Mikko gave their health to help build.

Thanks again to them.

A Day Late...

Anne and I finished the Laundry room today. We will put some rugs down, but it is looking pretty good at the moment.


We still have the trim on the bathroom door and ceiling, but I am still working those out in my head.

Weekend #2

Looking for teeth. We thought we saw one, but alas none to be seen.

The ceiling of the laundry room is painted. The walls are primed except for behind the washer and dryer. I have to move them out, spackle, and prime. Then I will paint the walls and do the trim work. EDC (Estimated Date of Completion) 8/31/06. I'll keep you posted.

Weekend Project

Mikko came down to help with some of my ongoing projects. He and I whipped out the drywalling of the laundry room like pros. The tiny room took us only two days.
I have begun mudding, and hope to be half done this week.
I want to thank Mikko for his help once again.

Buster Poindexter Says...

It is very hot in Duluth, as well as across the rest of the state. We are planning on spending some time down around Lake Superior and hoping for a nice lake breeze to keep us comfortable.

Alice's first boat ride was a success.The same cannot be said for the entire day.

The 4th

We don't really have plans for the 4th of July yet. We are planning to visit Ely either starting Friday or Saturday. We haven't made up our minds on that. We have some errands to run Friday like giving blood and I need to mow the lawn.
When we do get up there the only plan we have made is lunch with Grandma. Even that isn't a solid plan, but a "we'll have lunch while we are up there."
I have to be back at work on the 5th so we will leave Ely on the 4th.
Times and activities to be determined.
